As a Sales Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our reach, driving new business, and helping define the next chapter of this iconic resort.
THE ROLE:
The Sales Manager, Atlantic Canada is responsible for generating new business and managing key accounts across Atlantic Canada. This role focuses driving group business from corporate, association, government, and SMERF segments, representing The Algonquin Resort in market while building relationships and executing proactive sales strategies to maximize revenue.
You’ll be working remotely within Atlantic Canada, spending time on the road meeting clients, and regularly coming into the resort to connect with the team and host site visits. It’s a mix of independence and collaboration, ideal for someone who knows the market and enjoys being out in it.
ACTIVITIES:
The duties and responsibilities for the Sales Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales & Business Development
Proactively solicit and develop new accounts across the Maritimes, positioning The Algonquin Resort as a premier coastal destination for corporate, incentive, association, SMERF and group travel
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with revenue goals
Conduct in-market sales calls, presentations, and networking activities
Represent the resort at trade shows, industry events, and client functions
Account Management
Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business
Serve as the primary contact for “Maritime based” accounts
Coordinate with on-property teams to ensure successful execution of group and event business
Arrange and host client site visits and FAMs at the resort
Revenue & Strategy
Achieve individual sales and revenue targets
Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams
Reporting & Administration
Maintain accurate CI/TY records and account activity
Track pipeline, conversion rates, and production performance
Participate in sales meetings and business planning initiatives
Work Environment & Travel Expectations
Hybrid/remote work based in Atlantic Canada
Frequent travel within the Maritimes for sales calls and events
Regular, scheduled travel to The Algonquin Resort for client site visits, team collaboration, and on-property engagement
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for client functions

What You’ll Be Doing
Prospecting and developing new business across the Maritimes
Managing a portfolio of existing accounts and keeping those relationships strong
New Business Development - getting out in the market - sales calls, client meetings, networking events, trade shows
Bringing clients to the resort for site visits and helping showcase the property
Working closely with the on-property sales and event teams to convert and execute business
Keeping an eye on market trends and competitor activity
Tracking your activity and pipeline in the CRM
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
Required:
3–5+ years of hotel or resort sales management experience
Bilingual in English and French (required)
Strong knowledge of Atlantic Canadian markets
Proven ability to drive new business and meet revenue targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Experience with Marriott systems and CRM tools is an asset
