Job Purpose:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sponsorship and exhibition revenue growth through strategic account management, business development, and consultative sales across the event portfolio. The role focuses on retaining and expanding key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating high-value partnerships, and delivering commercially successful outcomes across domestic and international markets.
Job Dimensions:
-Account Management Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic accounts with medium to high-value contract revenue.
-Business Development Identify, develop, and convert new sponsorship and exhibition opportunities into long-term partnerships.
-Revenue Performance Achieve and exceed individual and event revenue targets through proactive sales activity and relationship management
-Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong consultative relationships with senior stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry partners.
-Proposal Development Develop tailored sponsorship and exhibition proposals aligned to client objectives and event value propositions.
-Market Intelligence Conduct market research and maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor activity, and client objectives.
-Cross-functional Collaboration – Work collaboratively with marketing, operations, production, and content teams to maximise event success.
-Onsite Event Management Represent the business onsite and ensure sponsor and exhibitor deliverables are fulfilled to a high standard.
Job Context:
This role operates within a fast-paced commercial events environment and requires close collaboration with internal departments including marketing, operations, production, sponsorship, and finance teams. The Sales Manager is expected to engage confidently with senior-level stakeholders across target industries and contribute strategically to the continued growth and market positioning of the event portfolio.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge
• Demonstrated experience in exhibition and sponsorship sales with strong commercial acumen.
• Strong understanding of consultative sales methodologies, lead generation, and pipeline management.
• Experience using CRM platforms and sales reporting tools.
• Ability to develop sponsorship proposals and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Industry experience within energy, mining, healthcare, or related sectors is advantageous.
Minimum Experience
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in B2B conference, exhibition, or sponsorship sales.
• Experience managing high-value accounts and achieving revenue targets in domestic or international markets.
• Previous exposure to healthcare or large-scale events sectors is advantageous.
