Job Description

Who We Are

Kargo creates powerful moments of connection between brands and consumers to build businesses. Every day, our 600+ employees work to radically raise the bar on what agentic AI, CTV, eCommerce, social, and mobile can do to deliver unique ad experiences across the world’s most premium platforms. Taking a creative science approach to all we do, we continuously innovate solutions that outperform industry benchmarks and client expectations. Now 20+ years strong, Kargo has offices in NYC, Chicago, LA, Dallas, Sydney, Auckland, London and Waterford, Ireland.

Who We Hire

Techies who want to build the future. Creatives who want to design it better. Communicators to win business. Collaborators to build it. Data pros who turn numbers into insights. Product builders who turn ideas into innovations. Anyone eager to be on a team that doesn’t stop to ask what’s next, because they’re already building it.

Mission

Drive revenue growth in the VIC market by owning agency and client relationships across programmatic and direct IO channels. As Kargo's face in VIC, you cement the brand with major holding companies, trading desks, and direct clients — delivering against revenue targets through custom advertising solutions that work. You partner closely with the Sydney Sales Director to build a scalable, repeatable motion that grows the Australian business.

Outcomes — What Success Looks Like in 6–12 Months

  • Revenue delivery: Hit quarterly and annual targets across programmatic and direct IO channels in the VIC market with no ambiguity on what you own
  • Agency presence: Establish Kargo as a recognised, active partner within at least 3 major holding groups in Sydney within 6 months
  • Pipeline health: Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of 3x against quarterly revenue targets within 6 months
  • Market strategy: Co-develop and execute a VIC sales strategy with the Sydney Sales Director that creates a repeatable, scalable motion within 90 days
  • Reporting cadence: Deliver consistent weekly and monthly reporting on pipeline health, deal velocity, and market insights from day one

Skills — Core Technical Capabilities

Required

  • Proven digital media or ad-tech sales experience at Sales Manager or Account Director level, ideally within the VIC market
  • Track record of delivering against revenue targets and building pipeline from scratch
  • Deep knowledge of programmatic advertising — trading desks, DSPs, and holding company dynamics
  • Direct IO sales experience with the ability to craft and present custom solutions for brand advertisers
  • Ability to interrogate client briefs and translate requirements into high-impact solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence in client-facing presentations and agency-level negotiations

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with major agency holding groups or trading desks in the VIC market
  • Experience developing sales collateral and presenting creative or technical concepts to senior stakeholders

Competencies — Behaviors We Like to See

Ownership & Accountability

  • Owns their number and their pipeline — no excuses, no ambiguity on what they're responsible for
  • Communicates transparently on deal status, shifting priorities, and market conditions without being asked

Bias for Action

  • Moves fast, gets hands dirty, and creates momentum through consistent outreach, meetings, and deal progression
  • Thrives without bureaucracy — ready to execute in a high-velocity environment where hard work and results go hand in hand

Customer Centricity

  • Leads with empathy and a genuine drive to understand and solve client problems before pitching solutions
  • Easy to work with — approachable, responsive, and solutions-oriented with both agency partners and direct clients

Resilience & Adaptability

  • Handles rejection well and maintains energy and focus through long sales cycles and competitive market dynamics
  • Adapts quickly to new information, shifting priorities, and changing market conditions without losing momentum
