Founded in 1987, Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) has been a pioneer in eco-tourism, offering guided walks in some of Australia’s most iconic landscapes. Over the years, TWC has expanded its offerings. In 2015, we expanded to the mainland and formed a partnership with the Australian Walking Company (AWC). In 2022, we introduced Guided by Nature, bringing our expertise to global destinations. About the role

This is a full-time position based in Launceston.

We’re looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead our Sales team and drive strong commercial performance while ensuring an exceptional guest experience from first enquiry through to booking.

Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sales team, support team development, and improve sales processes to maximise enquiry conversion and trip loading.

What you’ll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting the Sales team to deliver excellent guest service and sales outcomes
  • Overseeing team workflows to ensure enquiries, bookings and guest communications are managed efficiently
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training within the Sales team
  • Driving improvements to enquiry-to-sale conversion and overall sales performance
  • Reviewing and refining sales processes to improve efficiency and revenue opportunities
  • Monitoring reservations performance through reporting and KPI tracking
  • Working with the Head of Sales & Marketing to implement scalable sales systems and processes
  • Managing yield and trip loading to optimise availability and revenue

What you will bring

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales role (preferably in tourism), including experience leading a team
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to guest experience
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
