Main Objective:

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing sales team to deliver commercial results, optimize operational efficiency and drive customer engagement across their designated territory. This role builds foundational sales discipline, fosters individual growth, manages critical business levers, and partners cross-functionally to advance clinical, commercial, and organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Leadership & Team Performance Management
    • Conduct regular 1:1 coaching session to build accountability, develop talent, and align individual objectives with business strategy.
    • Lead monthly team meetings to drive performance visibility, share best practices and foster a sense of shared purpose.
    • Execute in-field visits with every team member, using structured feedback tools to drive sales excellence.
    • Manage and track team performance per HR calendar, including mid-year reviews, year-end evaluations.
    • Use Axis data and dashboards to monitor pipeline health, call activity, conversion rates, and territory coverage.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-functional Alignment
    • Partner with Product Marketing to ensure field activation of key campaigns and collect market insights to inform future strategies.
    • Work with Medical Education to support surgeon training, procedure adoption and clinical credibility.
    • Represent the in national business reviews, launch planning and cross-functional alignment meetings.
  1. Operational & Business Metric Management
    • Optimize loan kit utilization, consignment levels, and stock-to-sales ratios to reduce waste and drive asset efficiency.
    • Partner with your Sales Representatives to actively reduce freight cost per order by driving timely bookings and minimizing urgent shipments.
    • Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve escalations, improve service metrics and ensure accurate order fulfilment.
    • Maintain territory hygiene by ensuring correct use of systems, kit returns, and reporting accuracy.
  1. Making People Better (People Development & Culture Leadership)
    • Champion a coaching culture that enables Sales Representatives to build confidence, capability, and commercial judgement.
    • Identify development gaps and partner with Sales Optimization and/or Human Resources to implement targeted learning programs.
    • Create individual development plans (IDPs) and provide growth opportunities aligned with career aspirations and business needs.
    • Role model inclusive leadership and psychological safety to build a culture of continuous improvement and open feedback.
    • Proactively identify and address performance and/or conduct concerns within team, partnering with HR as needed.
    • Support wellbeing initiatives and team resilience through proactive engagement.
    • Support with inter-departmental training events and workshops

Education and Experience:

    • Preferred at least 2 years of medical sales leadership experience, with a track record of driving team-based success.
    • Degree-level qualifications are highly desirable (ideally within a relevant business or life science subject).
    • Exceptional coaching and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to lead through change and influence cross-functionally.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable managing business metrics and operational levers.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience managing diverse stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with CRM, sales dashboards, and field performance tracking tools.
