About the Role

The Sales Instructional Designer supports the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of commercial training programs. In this role, you will facilitate new hire onboarding, develop microlearning content, and create competency-based assessments that drive sales readiness and performance. Working closely with scientific subject matter experts and cross-functional partners, you will translate complex concepts into effective learning solutions while ensuring training materials align with organizational and business objectives.

This role is fully remote with occasional travel (10%).

Salary Range: $69,711 – $101,081 based on years of related experience and internal equity considerations

What You'll Contribute

  • Design, develop, and maintain sales training programs using evidence-based instructional design practices (such as ADDIE, SAM, and Bloom's Taxonomy), including onboarding, microlearning, competency-based assessments, and digital learning resources.
  • Partner with sales leaders, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and translate complex scientific concepts into effective training solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal learning resources to ensure training content is accurate, aligned, and scalable across the organization.
  • Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and coordinate the delivery of virtual, in-person, and self-paced learning programs.
  • Measure training effectiveness through assessments, reporting, and performance metrics, recommending continuous improvements to enhance sales readiness and capability.
  • Manage multiple training projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, accessibility compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay current on instructional design best practices and emerging learning technologies to continuously enhance the learner experience.

What You Bring

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

Experience: 5 years in the same or a similar role required; 7 years preferred

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, engaging learning solutions for commercial audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and eLearning best practices.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS); experience with Brainshark or similar learning platforms preferred.
  • Strong consulting, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience developing digital learning content, including multimedia, visual, and interactive training materials.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
