Job Description

Rakuten Mobile entered the market as the fourth MNO (Mobile Network Operator) in Japan, a position that had not been approved for 13 years. The company began full-scale service in April 2020 with the goal of providing high-quality mobile communication services at reasonable prices. We aim to contribute to Japanese society by providing various services with the goal of "democratizing the mobile market."

As of February 2025, Rakuten Mobile has surpassed 8.5 million subscribers and is experiencing rapid growth.

The company officially began offering services to corporate clients in January 2023. Rakuten Mobile is a core business poised to drive the future growth of the Rakuten Group, and as such, is receiving significant investment, attracting considerable attention both domestically and internationally.

Currently, sales activities are underway to acquire 10 million subscribers by the end of the year.

Department/Service Overview

This department is responsible for corporate sales within the Rakuten Mobile business. We aim to improve customer value and maximize our own revenue by providing not only Rakuten Group customers but also various companies with the introduction of corporate mobile phones, as well as communication infrastructure and DX solutions owned by the Rakuten Group.

Team Overview: Group Engagement Sales Promotion Department

This promotion department plans and analyzes using Rakuten Group assets to expand the number of companies that have adopted Rakuten Mobile, and promotes sales.

The organization is broadly composed of two groups.

1.Sales Promotion Group:
Aims to improve the mobile adoption rate by working with various departments such as Rakuten Ichiba (marketplace), Rakuten Travel, and Marketing. We will promote adoption after developing strategies with the heads of each business unit.

2.Workplace Sales Promotion Group:
Oversees workplace sales conducted by the Rakuten Group as a whole, promotes sales for each business unit, and actually goes to the site to improve the Rakuten Mobile adoption rate through workplace sales.

Reason for Opening

We are planning to increase the number of personnel because we can expect further expansion of the number of corporate lines by using Rakuten Group assets as a hook.

Target Clients:

The main target clients are Rakuten Group customers, such as stores on Rakuten Ichiba, facilities on Rakuten Travel, and companies that have introduced Rakuten PAY. There are many opportunities to accompany business meetings.

Proposal Method

In cooperation with the people in each business unit, we will create projects by planning, analyzing, and formulating strategies for each industry, such as selecting proposed companies and coordinating proposed contents.

We also work with executives and managers who are responsible for each service to develop strategies and implement the PDCA cycle to expand the number of Rakuten Mobile lines.

Proposal Content

1.Sales Promotion Group:
Introduction of corporate mobile phones, as well as communication infrastructure and DX solutions owned by the Rakuten Group.

2.Workplace Sales Promotion Group:
Introduction of Rakuten Mobile to employees belonging to the client.

Work Environment:

The Group Engagement Sales Promotion Department has approximately 40 members.
The organization is mainly composed of people in their 20s and 30s.
Both new graduates and mid-career hires are affiliated (60:40 ratio).

Since you may be in charge of planning and management, those who can analyze data using Excel (functions such as VLOOK UP) and DOMO.
