The automotive industry is in a profound software-driven transformation. Bosch Mobility (BBM) is committed to being a leading provider of innovative mobility software and services. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Automotive Software Sales Expert to fundamentally shape our engagement with automotive manufacturers' software organizations.

This critical role demands more than traditional sales; it requires a trusted advisor who can build deep, lasting relationships with Chief Software Officers, VPs, and Directors responsible for software development and services procurement at OEMs. You will be at the forefront of the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) revolution, identifying customer needs, co-creating solutions, and strategically positioning Bosch as the preferred software partner. Drive innovation and cross-divisional development activities for future product generations

  • Establish and sustain trust-based partnerships with key stakeholder within customer software organizations, including Chief Software Officers, VPs, and Directors of Software Dev. and Purchasing.
  • Actively listen to and thoroughly understand the customer's overarching Software & Service strategy, including their architectural roadmap, technology stack preferences, and long-term vision for software-defined vehicles. Proactively influence their approach by showcasing Bosch's capabilities and thought leadership.
  • Engage in discussions around potential business models (e.g., direct sales, licensing, co-creation frameworks, joint ventures, subscription models), including Terms & Conditions (T&C).
  • Align identified customer needs and strategic initiatives with Bosch Mobility's existing and evolving product and service portfolio. This includes also opportunities for established SW solutions.
  • Initiate Pre-Selling & Co-Creation: Leverage BBM's Software & Service capabilities to initiate pre-selling activities. This involves presenting solutions, concepts, and technological advancements, leading to co-creation projects.
  • Develop customer-specific Software & Service sales strategies in close collaboration with Bosch's internal teams (GCT, CCE, PRM and ENG). This ensures a compelling approach tailored to each OEM.
  • Lead and drive Proof of Concepts (PoC): Drive and manage software-driven Proof of Concepts (PoCs) from inception to successful completion. The primary aim is to demonstrate Bosch/BBM's technical capabilities and strategic value.
  • Align and collaborate intensively with key internal Bosch stakeholders and software-driven programs. This ensures a unified Bosch narrative around software innovation and trends.
  • Proactively influence cross-domain feature development within Bosch by bringing direct customer insights back to our engineering teams. Simultaneously, influence the customer's feature roadmap by positioning Bosch's innovative capabilities.
  • Serve as the entrance point and ultimately responsible for the overall customer relationship management in the critical area of Software and Services across all relevant Bosch Divisions, ensuring a seamless and integrated customer experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Software Engineering, Innovation Management, and/or Product Management within the automotive software domain.
  • Proven track record in a customer-facing role, adept at understanding complex technical needs and translating them into business opportunities. Ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders at CSO, VP, and Director levels.
  • Strategic Vision & Business Acumen: Keen understanding of the automotive industry's shift towards SDVs, new business models (e.g., subscription services), and evolving supply chains. Comfort discussing T&C, legal aspects, and financial implications of software partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex internal & external organizations, aligning diverse stakeholders towards common goals.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and compellingly to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing high-level decision-makers.
  • Strong leadership – leading the business, leading others, and leading self
  • Expert know how in commercial management for sales account
