Cynet is looking for a technically strong and customer-focused Sales Engineer to join our team in Rome.

The ideal candidate will combine strong cybersecurity and pre-sales capabilities with excellent technicl documentation and compliance-mapping skills.

In addition to supporting customers and partners throughout the technical sales cycle, this role will help organizations operating in regulated environments understand how Cynet’s cybersecurity capabilities can support their security and compliance requirements.

You will work closely with Sales, customers, partners, Security teams, Product, R&D, and other internal stakeholders to translate technical capabilities into clear business, security, and regulatory outcomes.

This is not a legal or compliance officer position. The role requires the ability to understand cybersecurity regulations and frameworks and translate their technical security requirements into Cynet capabilities, configurations, controls, and evidence.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $60,000-75,000. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including location, level, relevant experience, and skills.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Engineering & Technical Pre-Sales

• Partner with Account Executives and channel partners throughout the sales cycle.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure, security architecture, operational challenges, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Value engagements.
• Demonstrate Cynet capabilities across endpoint security, detection and response, automated investigation and remediation, security monitoring, and MDR services.
• Design proposed architectures and deployment models based on customer environments and security requirements.
• Support technical evaluations and competitive discussions.
• Respond to technical objections and clearly articulate Cynet’s technical differentiation and security value.
• Support customers and partners during Proof of Concept / Proof of Value activities and document technical outcomes.
• Analyze and support RFPs, RFQs, and public/private tenders.
• Work with the following regulations, standards, and frameworks: GDPR, NIS2, DORA, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and other relevant cybersecurity frameworks and customer-specific control requirements.

Compliance & Security Requirements Mapping

Responsibilities include:

• Understand the cybersecurity and operational security requirements contained within applicable regulations and frameworks.
• Map relevant Cynet capabilities to customer security and regulatory requirements.
• Help customers understand how Cynet can provide technical controls and supporting evidence for their compliance programs.
• Create and maintain compliance mapping documents and control matrices.
• Work with customers to identify which Cynet capabilities may support requirements related to areas such as:
• Threat prevention
• Security monitoring
• Endpoint Detection and Response
• Incident detection and response
• Vulnerability and exposure management
• Security logging and evidence
• Automated remediation
• Continuous monitoring
• Incident investigation
• Operational resilience
• Security testing and assessment

Teamwork & Collaboration

• Actively contribute to a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support across the Sales Engineering organization.
• Share technical knowledge, field experience, best practices, and lessons learned with colleagues.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Post-Sales, Product, R&D, Support, and other internal teams to deliver the best possible customer outcome.
• Support other Sales Engineers and regional teams when additional expertise or capacity is required.
• Contribute to internal enablement sessions, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Take ownership of individual responsibilities while maintaining a One Team approach, where team success and customer success come before individual silos.
• Build strong, trusted relationships internally and externally, promoting open communication, accountability, and a willingness to go the extra mile for colleagues, customers, and partners.
