Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sales Engineer representing the Resistoflex brand is a key contributor with the responsibility of territory sales. This individual will be responsible for channel development, product training, applications training, sales forecasting, project execution, driving end user demand, sales planning, increasing margin, and other functions as outlined by the Business Line Manager. This individual will work closely with Inside Sales, Engineering Support Services, and other Crane ChemPharma & Energy Sales Engineers.

Preferred location: Midwest (Ohio / Pennsylvania / Kentucky)

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

· Drive organic growth for Resistoflex Flexible product portfolio (hoses, fittings and expansion joints) within defined geographic sales territory.

· Identify key decision makers at targeted chemical, petrochemical, refinery, semiconductor, biopharma, and other end user locations to interact with them and ensure they understand our product offerings along with the value propositions for their applications.

· Submit and achieve sales/margin forecasts utilizing channel management and direct interaction with end users.

· Maintain active project funnel, follow up on opportunities, and execute on closing projects as either a team member or team leader.

· Maintain a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the product line and the value proposition within specific applications.

· Recommend product modifications, improvements, new products, or new applications to customers.

· Understand current market conditions and relay those in a concise manner.

· Develops sales forecast for each product line with reasonable accuracy.

· Conducts training seminars for distribution channels, end users, and colleagues as required.

· Manages territory within the guidelines of budgets, reporting, and distribution management.

· Maintains existing MRO business and converts new accounts.

· Investigates, recommends, and participates in required trade shows.

· Responsible for driving demand at end user level and regular interaction with them.

· Understand Channel relationships with end users and drive demand at end user level.

· Crane Business System – use of CBS tools to ensure the continuous improvement of the business.

· Provide a weekly report on all activities to the Business Line Manager.

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

· B.S. in Business, Engineering or related degree.

· Willingness to Travel 50% to 75%.

· Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

· Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office software, and Salesforce.

· High energy team player with a hands-on approach.

· Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and present recommendations with clarity and conviction to serve the overall objectives.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills while conducting a professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor.

· Ability to establish credibility through demonstrated expertise, integrity of his/her initiatives.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with channels and end users.

· Ability to differentiate a product, clearly explain the value proposed, and sell the product advantages to win MRO and projects versus competition.

· Strong listening skills with the ability to assimilate information and translate it into customer solutions.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

· 5 – 10 years of sales experience in technical field.

· Experienced in selling fluid handling products such as hoses, fittings in the chemical, petrochemical, refinery, semiconductor, biopharma markets.
