Sales Engineer II RMR

As part of the Warehousing Commercial team, it is your responsibility to work collaboratively with the Service Project Execution team, Service Account Managers, and customers to identify and analyse any Revision, Modification and Retrofit (RMR) needs, and transfer those into a successful system design with appropriate options identified. You will present these designs to the customer, further fostering engagement, guiding technical discussions, and helping them make informed decisions as to the correct solution. Thus, you ensure to keep our customer’s system in perfect shape and adaptive to our customer’s needs.

In this challenging role, you will serve a large variety of Warehousing customers out of different industries and you will work closely together with the customer and the responsible Account Manager to design and sell the best offer to our customers. Furthermore, you will be an active member of our RMR Sales Engineering Community and use this, to share and expand your knowledge and capabilities around this discipline.

Looking at our service sales process, your responsibilities lie in the following activities:

  • Analyse customer automation requests through collaborative discussions with Service Account Managers and customers.

  • Guide and steer the development of system designs for RMR projects, managing the process from concept (budget stage) through final design (fixes quote).

  • Evaluate multiple solution options to resolve technical challenges, balancing cost, functionality, operational requirements, and long-term maintainability.

  • Assess design and execution risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure that proposed solutions align with business and customer objectives.

  • Collaborate with the layout engineering group to translate system concepts into detailed, functional layouts, if required.

  • Coordinate bid activities within the sales design team, ensuring deliverables, cost inputs, and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Support the pricing process by developing cost estimates and reviewing financial assumptions.

  • Prepare proposal documents and hold or assist in technical presentations, providing clear and confident communication of system concepts and trade-offs.

  • Manage multiple concurrent sales projects effectively, maintaining organized documentation and consistent communication across all stakeholders.

  • After a project is sold, you secure and organize a successful project kick-off with the Service Project Manager.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing in English.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit, anticipating and mitigating project risks, and dealing with issues in a practical environment.

  • A cooperative mindset, enthusiastic to work in multidisciplinary, international teams, and like to share your knowledge with your coworkers.

  • A technical bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar

  • Experience in sales engineering for Warehousing projects.

  • Analytical ability to structure and solve logistical problems

  • You have a strong customer focus ‘Service blood’ and can convince your stakeholders
