Job Summary

The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales of DC3’s automation solutions for onshore oil and gas production chemicals. This role combines technical expertise and industry knowledge to understand customer needs, demonstrate the value of DC3 solutions, and provide technical insight and credibility throughout the sales process from initial discovery through successful implementation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new sales opportunities and support growth within existing accounts for DC3 production chemical automation solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with customer production, operations, engineering, chemical, and field teams.
  • Conduct customer discovery to understand operational challenges, equipment configurations, chemical programs, and automation needs.
  • Evaluate applications and recommend appropriate DC3 solutions based on customer requirements and operating conditions.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the sales process and clearly communicate the operational and business value of DC3 solutions.
  • Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, technical discussions, and field evaluations.
  • Support quotations, proposals, scopes of work, and other technical sales documentation.
  • Partner with Field Service, Engineering, Operations, and other internal teams to communicate customer requirements and support successful implementation.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of DC3 products, production chemical automation, and upstream oil and gas equipment and operations.
  • Maintain customer relationships, support account growth, and communicate relevant customer and market feedback internally.
  • Participate in customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and training activities as needed.
  • Travel up to 50% is required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • 1–3+ years of relevant experience in upstream oil and gas, production operations, engineering, technical sales, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of onshore oil and gas production equipment and operations.
  • Experience or familiarity with wellheads, gas lift, plunger lift, tank batteries, chemical injection systems, and related production equipment.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and translate technical and operational requirements into appropriate solution recommendations.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain automation systems and related field technologies.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and communicate effectively with production, operations, engineering, field personnel, and other technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in customer and field environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to support customers, field evaluations, and sales activities.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in oilfield operations, production engineering, production supervision, technical sales, or sales engineering.
  • Experience with production chemical programs or oilfield chemicals.
  • Experience with chemical injection pumps or chemical automation systems.
  • Experience with SCADA, telemetry, remote monitoring, instrumentation, or field automation systems.
  • Experience working with field communication equipment or industrial control systems.

Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: extended periods of driving, standing, walking, and working around production equipment during customer and site visits.
  • Unpredictable, harsh, and outdoor work environment including exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, dirt, industrial equipment, and other hazardous conditions typical of upstream oil and gas operations.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including flame-resistant clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and respiratory protection, as required, when visiting field location.
