Job Description

The Sales Engineer is responsible for the pre-sales and/or post-sales technical consulting activities such as shaping and delivering solution development, customer requirements analysis and technical proposal preparation. Under general guidance, provides technical sales support to ensure successful customer integration and implementation of established company products. This position combines technical knowledge with customer-facing communication to support strategic business opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares technical presentations, proposals, and responses to RFPs/RFQs. Coordinates with pricing, contracts and engineering teams to ensure feasibility and competitiveness. Supports bid/no-bid decisions through technical risk assessments and value articulation. (20%)
  • Participates in customer meetings to gather requirements and communicate product capabilities. Translates customer needs into system architectures, product configurations, or service solutions. Prepares and presents customer network systems/equipment needs plan to company teams to ensure complete plan is feasible within cost, time and environment constraints. (20%)
  • Serves as a technical point of contact for assigned accounts or programs. Fosters long-term relationships with customers. (20%)
  • Maintains CRM systems and tracks technical engagement activities. Provides internal reporting on project status, pipeline progression, and customer feedback. Develops presentations relative to keeping the customers current on company product enhancements and how they can meet the customer's changing business and network system needs. (20%)
  • Maintains knowledge of the company's products, applications and systems. (20%)

Representative Qualifications:

  • Strong customer engagement and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective at synthesizing technical and business perspectives.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering.
  • Ability to present to engineers and program managers.
  • Proficient in CRM tools and technical modeling software.
