The Sales Engineer is responsible for managing and growing aftermarket sales by maintaining and developing strong relationships with key customers and trade organizations. This role focuses on driving bookings, managing customer accounts across the aftermarket lifecycle, and delivering value-based solutions. The position requires a solid understanding of rotating equipment, market trends, and customer needs, while coordinating closely with internal teams and third-party channel partners to ensure effective execution and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Drive aftermarket bookings to meet or exceed assigned sales targets
Maintain regular, planned communication with key customers within the assigned territory
Act as the primary point of contact for customers on all aftermarket-related matters, including proposals, repairs, deliveries, quality concerns, and warranty claims
Develop and implement marketing and sales plans aligned with regional and organizational objectives
Educate customers on product features, applications, and value using approved marketing and technical materials
Collaborate with application engineering, customer service, manufacturing, and third-party partners to meet customer requirements
Prepare and manage quotes, sales reports, forecasts, expense reports, and other required documentation
Demonstrate financial acumen when discussing commercial decisions, including return on investment and solution-based selling
Conduct product demonstrations, customer presentations, and technical discussions as required
Support root cause failure analysis discussions and communicate findings to customers when applicable
Perform site visits, including walking large industrial facilities and completing required physical activities safely
Undertake other duties as assigned to support business objectives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering or technical discipline is preferred
Few years of relevant sales or engineering experience, ideally within aftermarket sales
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, including pumps, mechanical seals, and associated systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional business documentation
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and perform required physical activities
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Aftermarket sales experience within rotating equipment or engineered products
Industry experience in oil and gas, power generation, paper, or chemical processing
Familiarity with API 610 standards
Project management experience
