Sales Engineer (2 Position)

Role Purpose:

  • Drive revenue growth across both Process Automation and Factory Automation portfolios by identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and leveraging a cross-division approach to deliver tailored automation solutions within the assigned territories: Penang, Kedah, and Ipoh / within Johor, and Melaka territories
  • Provide technical sales support and solution consulting by deeply understanding customer applications, recommending integrated product and system solutions, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure successful and efficient implementation
  • Build strong customer relationships and market presence by engaging key stakeholders, delivering impactful product presentations, and positioning Pepperl+Fuchs as a trusted, customer-centric automation partner across the region

Major Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
    • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for both Process Automation and Factory Automation portfolios within the two territories:Penang, Kedah, and Ipoh
    • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities, including cross-selling and upselling across divisions
    • Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with regional objectives
  • Key Account Management
    • Manage and grow key customer accounts by building strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers and influencers
    • Understand customer strategies, applications, and expansion plans to proactively position suitable solutions
    • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention through consistent engagement and support
  • Technical Solution Selling
    • Analyze customer requirements and applications to recommend integrated automation solutions
    • Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and product presentations
    • Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to ensure solution feasibility and successful project execution
  • Customer Engagement & Market Development
    • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing industry insights and application expertise
    • Conduct regular customer visits, seminars, and product demonstrations to strengthen market presence
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (One Team Approach)
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across both divisions to deliver a seamless and unified customer experience
    • Align with marketing, product management, and service teams to support campaigns and customer initiatives
    • Share market intelligence and customer feedback to support continuous improvement and innovation
  • Sales Operations & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and account plans using CRM tools
    • Ensure timely submission of reports, quotations, and documentation
    • Adhere to company policies, processes, and compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field relevant to Process and Factory Automation)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, business development, or application engineering within the industrial automation industry, with exposure to Process Automation and/or Factory Automation solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, process control systems, and instrumentation, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical and value-driven solutions
  • Proven track record in managing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets in a competitive environment
  • Experience engaging with OEMs, system integrators, contractors, and end-users across relevant industries (e.g., material handling, oil & gas, electronics, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or process equipment)
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational and matrix organization, with exposure to international business practices and cross-functional collaboration
  • Possess own transportation and willing to travel extensively within the two territories: Penang, Kedah, and Ipoh / within Johor, and Melaka territories
