Job Description

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

This is a 1-year contract position.

About the role:

You are a technical sales leader with deep expertise in payments and financial technology. You design scalable, secure solutions that meet complex client needs, and you thrive in cross-functional environments. You’re a strategic thinker, a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, and a proactive problem-solver who drives results.

About the day-to-day:

  • Support sales calls by assessing client needs and explaining payment capabilities.
  • Design end-to-end payment flows aligned with compliance, network rules, and operational processes.
  • Recommend appropriate payment rails (e.g., Interac, Visa Direct, EFT) based on use cases.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specs and integration steps.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to validate solutions.
  • Create technical documentation and onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate testing, sandbox validation, and go-live activities.
  • Troubleshoot integration and transaction issues across APIs and networks.
  • Act as the primary technical contact throughout onboarding.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and cost-effective

About the qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a client-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer).
  • Strong knowledge of payments, issuing/acquiring, and financial platforms.
  • Proven ability to engage executives and simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Experience with solutioning tools (Postman, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, etc.) and API architectures.
  • Coding familiarity (e.g., AWS, JSON, SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approx. 10–15%).

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Hiring process:

Compensation:

The expected salary for this role is approximately $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
