As our Sales Director Defence Nordics, you will take on a key role in driving and developing our Defence business across the Nordics. This is a role where relationship-building, curiosity, and the ability to navigate complex environments are just as important as commercial drive.
You will play an important part in strengthening and growing our Defence presence in Sweden and the Nordics. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with customers, explore opportunities, build trust, and bring complex deals across the finish line.
You will join our Global Industries team, a collaborative and strategic part of Westermo focused on developing growth in our key segments. You will work closely with colleagues across sales, product management, cybersecurity, and marketing, as well as the Sales Director Defence in DACH, to build a strong and scalable Defence business together.
Are you our new Sales Director Defence Nordics?
Defence is an emerging focus area at Westermo, making this role both pioneering and impactful. You will combine strategy with hands-on execution and take ownership of both creating opportunities and turning them into lasting partnerships.
In this role, you will:
Build and nurture long-term relationships with Defence forces, prime contractors, OEMs, integrators, and national agencies
Explore the market with curiosity and insight to identify new opportunities and create a strong pipeline
Lead and support complex sales processes, including tendering responses and negotiations
Lay the foundation for future growth by establishing reference cases and scalable ways of working
Your responsibilities
Drive Defence business development and sales, with a strong presence in customer dialogue and relationship-building
Build and develop key accounts across Sweden and the Nordics
Lead complex sales processes with a structured and thoughtful approach
Translate market insights into clear and actionable growth plans
Contribute to building scalable and sustainable ways of working within Defence
Help shape our sales strategy, including target customers and positioning
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver strong customer value
Bring customer insights into product development and cyber security alignment
Build trusted relationships within the broader Defence ecosystem
Contribute to marketing activities, events, and thought leadership
Stay informed on market trends, procurement processes, and regulations
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a senior sales professional with Defence experience who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You build trust through relationships, open doors, and create momentum in your work. You have experience leading complex sales processes end-to-end, identifying opportunities and building pipelines from scratch. You are well-connected within the Swedish/Nordic Defence industry and use your analytical skills to turn insights into clear actions. You work in a structured and self-driven way, while collaborating effectively with others, and are comfortable operating across the Nordic region.
Requirements
Experience in Defence business development and sales
Understanding of Defence procurement and tendering processes
Experience with data communication, networking, cybersecurity or similar
Strong communication skills in English
Based in Sweden and open to travel within the Nordics
Meritorious
Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet, routers, switches, secure networks)
Familiarity with Defence standards and certifications
Swedish language skills
Background in engineering, telecommunications, cyber security, or similar

Basic Information
Location: Västerås, Sweden (preferably, but hybrid work could work)
Travel: Required within Sweden and the Nordics (estimated ~50 days per year)
