Meteomatics is a Swiss weather technology company delivering the world's most accurate weather data via a powerful API and proprietary drone-based measurement technology. Our customers span renewable energy, finance, logistics, aviation, agriculture, and retail — organisations that rely on precise, hyperlocal forecasts to make critical decisions. With a growing global customer base and a product-led growth motion, we are scaling our commercial team to match our technical ambitions.
We are looking for an experienced SDR Manager/Team Lead to build, lead, and scale our global Sales Development function based in Berlin & New York.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will own the top of the funnel, defining outbound prospecting strategy, hiring and coaching a team of SDRs, with some individual contribution to start with as we scale out the team.
The role is expected to partner closely with Marketing and Account Executives to drive a predictable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
This is a high-impact, people-first management role at a company where weather data and technology genuinely excite your buyers.
This role requires a high level of motivation, strong leadership capabilities, and a solution-oriented mindset. This is a fantastic opportunity to scale a team, optimize sales development processes, and build a leadership career with a global leader in weather technology.
Team Leadership & Coaching:
Lead & develop the SDR team Hire, onboard, coach, and performance-manage a team of SDRs. Run regular 1-to-1s, call reviews, and skills-development sessions to accelerate ramp and build a high-performance culture.
Own pipeline targets Set and deliver against monthly and quarterly SQL and pipeline-value targets in collaboration with Sales leadership. Build transparent reporting and forecasting cadences.
Define outbound strategy Design territory and segmentation models across key verticals (energy, aviation, insurance, finance, agriculture, retail). Develop persona-specific messaging that resonates with technical and commercial buyers.
Drive process & tooling Manage the SDR tech stack (Hubspot, Gong, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Claude, ChatGPT etc; sequencing, intent data, enrichment). Continuously test and iterate sequences, cadences, and playbooks to improve conversion rates.
Partner cross-functionally Work tightly with Marketing on campaign alignment and lead hand-offs, and with AEs to ensure smooth qualification handovers and feedback loops.
Champion product knowledge Build deep familiarity with Meteomatics' API, datasets, and use cases so your team can speak credibly with data-savvy prospects from the first touch.
Report & improve Track SDR KPIs (activities, connects, meetings set, SQL rate, pipeline generated) and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Lead by Example (Individual Contribution):
Hands-on Prospecting While we scale out the team the role will need to maintain a reduced individual target by cold calling, emailing, and nurturing high-value inbound/outbound leads to keep your skills sharp and test new strategies.
Brand Representation Represent Meteomatics at key exhibitions and events, building long-term, trusting relationships with prospects.
Language Skills: Fluency in German and English is essential.
Experience: You have 4+ years of experience in B2B SaaS tech sales, with at least 1–2 years successfully mentoring, coaching, or leading an SDR team (or acting as a Senior SDR).
Proven track record of hitting pipeline and targets in a metrics-driven environment.
Hands-on experience with modern sales tools (e.g. Salesforce/HubSpot, Gong/Outreach/Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo or similar) and are comfortable utilizing AI tools to optimize team workflows.
Leadership Mindset You are a proactive, empathetic, and resilient leader who knows how to motivate a team through challenges and celebrate wins.
Strong coaching skills — you can identify what's holding an SDR back and fix it.
Comfort selling technical or data-heavy products; experience with APIs, data services, or developer-facing tools is a distinct advantage.
Analytical mindset — you make decisions from data, not gut feel.
Collaborative and low-ego; you see your success as your team's success.
Communication Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an agile mind that easily adapts to a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-have: Interest, curiosity, or an educational background in weather-related fields. Prior experience scaling an SDR function from scratch.
Innovative and future-oriented products and solutions for successful sales
Flat hierarchies and the opportunity to help shape the success of Meteomatics
Short and fast decision-making processes
An interesting field of work with insights into companies in various industries
A motivated and international team of colleagues
