About you: 

Join Lightyear’s growing APAC team in Sydney as a Sales Development Representative and accelerate your sales career in a high-growth fintech environment. This is a career-defining opportunity to build expertise in prospecting, discovery, and pipeline generation while working with cutting-edge AI tools that help you maximise your impact. As a key part of our revenue engine, you'll engage finance leaders, create qualified opportunities, and gain exposure to a clear pathway for growth into senior sales and commercial roles. Best of all, you'll be selling an award-winning solution that solves real business challenges, helping customers improve visibility, cash flow, and operational efficiency.

Day-to-day, you will: 

• Generate qualified pipeline through fast lead response, proactive outreach, and targeted discovery conversations with finance decision-makers.
• Convert interest into opportunities using personalised, AI-informed engagement and seamless handoffs to Account Executives.
• Source and qualify new partners across ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) , accounting firms, and VARs ( Value-Added Resellers).
• Drive channel growth through relationship building and partner referrals.
• Strengthen market presence and generate pipeline by representing Lightyear at industry events, partner engagements, and customer-facing activities across APAC.
• Maintain CRM accuracy and pipeline visibility to support reliable forecasting, reporting, and sales execution.

Essential:

• Phone-first relationship builder who confidently engages senior finance leaders and partners, quickly establishing trust and credibility.
• Results-driven communicator with a proven track record of achieving targets across phone, email, and digital channels.
• Tech-savvy self-starter who embraces AI, adapts quickly, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Collaborative brand ambassador with strong stakeholder management skills and the flexibility to represent Lightyear across APAC.

Desirable:

• B2B sales or customer-facing experience with a passion for building relationships.
• Knowledge of modern sales methodologies such as BANT and MEDDPICC.
• Understanding of partner and channel ecosystems, ISVs, accounting firms, and VARs.
• AI-savvy and data-driven, with experience using sales tech, automation, and CRM insights
