Job Description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating qualified sales leads and opportunities for Black Box’s KVM products and Control Room solutions. Such leads will be prospected and cultivated at the early sales stages, so that they can be further pursued by Black Box’s sales teams.

This junior-level role is focused on building pipeline and driving engagement with potential customers through proactive outreach, lead qualification, and close collaboration with the sales team. The SDR will serve as the first point of contact for prospective customers, developing awareness of Black Box’s solutions, educating prospects, and setting the stage for successful sales engagements. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and eager to learn solution-based sales in a technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify, and prospect potential customers within target markets (control rooms, video walls, high performance KVM, etc.).
  • Proactively engage leads through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other outreach channels.
  • Qualify inbound leads generated by the marketing team and various sales campaigns, ensuring they meet criteria for sales opportunities.
  • Nurture early-stage prospects by educating them on Black Box’s solutions and value propositions.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the company’s sales teams to schedule discovery calls, product demos, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions, leads, and pipeline activity in Salesforce.
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives, including webinars, trade shows, and events by helping drive attendance and follow-up.
  • Provide feedback to sales and marketing teams on prospect insights, objections, and competitive intelligence.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly activity and qualified opportunity goals.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to quickly learn and articulate technical solutions in simple, customer-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to build a career in sales.
  • Self-starter with a positive, optimistic attitude – even when handling rejections.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging decision-makers at various levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to qualify and prioritize leads.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles (internships and part-time roles welcome).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge or interest in technology solutions (control rooms, AV, KVM, etc.) preferred, but not required. (Training will be provided.)

Supervisory Responsibility:
