Job Description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a critical role in driving pipeline growth by identifying, qualifying, and engaging prospective customers for Crown Bioscience’s pre-clinical and translational research services. This role works closely with Inside Sales, Business Development (BD), and Marketing to support territory strategy, event-driven outreach, and inbound lead response.

The ideal candidate is curious, coachable, detail-oriented, and motivated to build a career in life sciences sales.

Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Qualification

  • Prospect and qualify new opportunities within assigned territories and account segments
  • Respond to inbound leads in a timely and professional manner, including AI-generated leads (e.g., chat, web, campaigns)
  • Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand customer needs, research focus, and buying timelines
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate BD or Inside Sales partner

Outbound & Account Development

  • Support outbound prospecting efforts aligned to territory plans and priority accounts
  • Build targeted contact lists using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SciLeads, and CRM data
  • Engage prospects via email, phone, LinkedIn, and event follow-up
  • Support strategic initiatives such as win-back campaigns, sleeping accounts, and onshore/offshore positioning

Event & Campaign Support

  • Assist with lead capture and follow-up for major scientific conferences and industry events
  • Execute marketing campaigns with clear messaging and calls to action
  • Track engagement and outcomes in Salesforce and marketing systems

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce
  • Log all activities, leads, and opportunities according to process guidelines
  • Assist with pipeline tracking, territory reviews, and reporting as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Ability to learn scientific concepts and articulate value propositions clearly

Preferred

  • Experience in life sciences, CRO, biotech, pharma, or research tools
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM platforms
  • Experience supporting trade shows or scientific events
  • Interest in pursuing a career path toward Inside Sales or Business Development
