Reports To: Sales Supervisor

Job Status: Exempt

Responsible for assisting sales supervisor and sales coordinator through various tasks needed to input the set- up of events, plant bars and plant sales and make new connections for events.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. Have a dependable vehicle at all times. Have and maintain automobile insurance coverage at all times. Maintain eligibility to operate agency vehicles.
  2. Physical capacities must include professional appearance, and bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
  3. Work flexible schedule based on schedules of persons served by and needs of A New Leaf, including but not limited to working scheduled evenings or weekends as events require.
  4. Follow policies and procedures of A New Leaf, Inc.
  5. Ensures all individuals served are safe in their working environment and program participation at all times.
  6. Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, completing required documentation and reports.
  7. Ability to work as a team and work with a flexibility mind set, to achieve a desired balance between social service and entrepreneurial missions.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for attending plant bars, plant sales and events.
  2. With oversight from Sales Supervisor, assist with the spring Easter lilies campaign
  3. With oversight from Sales Supervisor, assist with Valentine Roses campaign
  4. With oversight from Sales Supervisor, assist with holiday poinsettia campaign
  5. Actively seek out new contacts to set up events within the community that will assist with the growth of A New Leaf Social Enterprise.
  6. Engage with and support A New Leaf clients when attending all community events.
  7. Attends all necessary license/certification, in-service training and conferences in order to maintain awareness of policies, procedures and current greenhouse regulations, along with supervision and training techniques.
  8. Complies with recognized professional standards of ethical conduct and maintain quality services.
  9. When needed work at Garden Centers


Requirements

Special Requirements:

  • Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.
  • Community Services Registry checks (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either are free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age – 21 years old.
  • Sales work experience required, marketing and merchandising work experience preferred.
  • Physical capabilities must include bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must possess intermediate math skills including the ability to calculate figures, amounts and percentages.
  • Positive attitude, strong customer service skills and an expressed desire to work with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Physical ability to conduct training involving manual labor.
  • Final hiring pending on OSBI background check, clean driving record, Community Services Registry check, and pre-employment screening.

About A New Leaf Inc.

A New Leaf’s mission is to provide individuals with developmental disabilities with life skills, marketable job training through horticultural therapy, community-based vocational placement, and residential services to increase their independence and individual choices.

A New Leaf was established in 1979 to provide horticultural-related job training to adults with developmental disabilities. A New Leaf began with one greenhouse, one staff and served two individuals. By 1980 A New Leaf, grew to serve 13 individuals. In 1986, A New Leaf built its first 12,000 sq. ft. greenhouse and vocational training facility. Then in September 2013, acquired Homelife Association. Through the acquisition, A New Leaf began operating two group homes and providing 24-hour assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities living independently.

Today, A New Leaf is honored to serve 325 individuals with developmental disabilities and autism through employment in five greenhouses, two retail centers, community job sites, students in the classroom, and individuals in residences.
