Position Function

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for the account management of residential and commercial customers. Provides customer service, document control and support to the sales team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop quotes and estimates for new job, job changes and additional work-scopes and ensures submissions are made on time
  • Adhere to quote and estimating standards, including forms and processes which drive timeliness, accuracy, ethics and professionalism
  • Ensure all quotes and bids adhere to gross margin expectations for the division
  • Build and maintain relationships at all levels of customer and potential customer
  • Communicate new business opportunities and market intelligence to the Outside Sales Representative and Regional General Manager
  • Supports developing individual account goals, promoting customer loyalty
  • Establish NS’ credibility with customers, acting as a solution provider
  • Fully understand NS’ available products, make recommendations and explain product application to customer and end users
  • Review supplier order confirmations to ensure correct products have been entered production and the shipping date is accurate
  • Communicate with the Operations department for scheduling
  • Proactively support the NS safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure utilization of safe work practices while on site and in the office
  • Maintain positive customer relationships, for NS, in collaboration with the local General Manager and sales team
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communication style with customers and employees in all circumstances
  • Maintain sufficient records to allow future review of all estimates
  • Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of their work as required
Experience
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in sales, estimating, coordination or related function
  • Experience in industry with a service and installation or distribution company, preferably in a construction environment
Intellectual Horsepower
  • Must be bright and intelligent; deal with concepts and complexity comfortably; described as intellectually sharp, capable, and agile
Technical & Practical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as margin, mark up, discounts, percentages, area, volume, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and decision-making ability
  • Good negotiation skills and persuasive ability
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Ability to present information to senior management and customers
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite; Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to learn products, systems and processes
Education Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in commerce, business, construction, or related field is preferred
  • A record of continuing education in related topics is desirable
