The Specialist-Sales Coordinator reports to the Director of Sales for Midea who manages the Menards accounts. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the flow with buyers and inventory analysts to grow the Menards business.

Account Management & Retail Operations

  • Work independently and accountable for resolving with retail stores to resolve store and customer issues involving parts and service.
  • Collaborate with Menards Onsite Analyst on weekly tracking reports and packing list requests data collection, responsible for sending information to parties listed.
  • Hold weekly meetings with Menards analysts to review sales and forecast
  • Create Weekly and Monthly reports for the Menards analysts highlighting store service levels and promotional performance
  • Collaborate with Midea Inbound team to reduce compliance charge exposure.
  • Collaborate with Sales Director on internal Midea forecasts.
  • Assist in Product Line Reviews, product set up, and presentation completion as needed.
  • Responsible for product set up within stores from start to finish.
  • Have the ability to travel to retail stores once a month to audit product on display and ensure correct merchandising of product,
  • Attend customer meetings as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities & Experience

  • Advertising & future promos - review upcoming promotions. Provide forecasts and replenishment action plan to achieve high sales and service level.
  • Recap currently running promotions with comments on performance and actions needed (Monday mornings)
  • After ad completion, comment on performance and what could be applied for future promotions
  • Open PO report/Open SOC Report- provide an updated ETA on all open Po’s, if Po’s will be delayed note which promos are affected. Follow up on past due orders to ensure that they are received in correctly.

New SKUs

  • Suggest new item order quantities for POG sets.
  • Suggest forecast of new items and Annual Sku Base Forecast
  • Communicate delivery dates & concerns
  • Track sales & suggest adjustments as needed or if they are selling to expectations
  • Track discontinued sell through and any needed actions

New Store

  • Provide any changes to the buy file given. (SKUs need more sent, disc SKUs need to be taken off, etc.)
  • Tracking and updating the Menards team of the PO on a daily basics.
  • Placing orders/tracking sales daily for 3-4 weeks after open.

Hold weekly meetings with agendas sent the day prior to every meeting summarizing the talking points and action items from the prior meeting. Meeting minutes are due within 2 days afterwards or by EOD Friday of the week. Topics are to include but not limited to:

  • Current and upcoming advertising with comments and actions to achieve success.
  • Review GAINS assemblies.
  • Sales VS Forecast report – Review and recommend actions needed. Determine if sales are trending up or down and the reason for the change. If trend is expected to continue, discuss plans to increase/decrease the forecast.
  • Report on never out and high out of stock skus. List why we are out, any needed actions, and when will we be back in stock.
  • Review backorder issues and provide expected recovery dates.
  • Review service levels & stock turns - where are we at versus Category Goal? Any actions needed if not meeting or exceeding?

Weekly Reports (due EOD Thursday of each week) & Monthly Reports (due EOD Thursday the week after you receive the Monthly Summary MSI Reports).

  • Quickly summarize the sales data, service level, promo information, and any highlights or lowlights that took place.
  • Discuss sales that took place the past week/month, and explain the reasoning behind any large sales variances. You should also include YTD sales information as well.
  • Discuss the service level over the past week/month and explain the reasoning behind any large service level variances. Mention what your service level goals are and if we are not meeting those goals explain why and what is being done to meet those goals.
  • Promo Information: Discuss the past weeks/month promo results and/or upcoming promotional information.
  • Include information on turns for the past month and explain the reasoning behind any large variance in turns (monthly report only).
  • Include scorecard information and explain any changes to the scorecard. For poor metrics explain what is being done to improve (monthly report only).
  • Other Info such as: new stores, new product roll outs, store visits, and any other news or information you want to discuss and share.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Math, Finance, or Supply Chain
  • Strong Microsoft Excel abilities
  • Analytical, Ability to perform multiple tasks at once, Experience working with a vendor who sells Menards
  • Actively review sales forecasts and recommend adjustments with reasonings.
  • Review, inspect, and communicate Menard purchase forecast needs. Address concerns and recommend adjustments far enough in advance to ensure inventory availability.
  • Completing yearly goals set at the beginning of the year in accordance to the outline and dates.
  • Answer daily emails about inventory & forecasting concerns or product questions in an urgently.
  • Expedite Po’s and special orders when necessary.
  • Know their programs ordering/review schedule.
  • Including holiday schedule adjustments or warehouse closures.
  • Informing your appropriate Analyst/Merchant Team about PTO/working from home.
  • Maintain 30 hours a week in the office
