About this Position
The Sales Controller Sr. acts as the key Finance Business Partner for the Sales Operations function, driving gross-to-net management, commercial control, and financial transparency. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and governance of sales allowances, discounts, rebates, customer investments, and commercial agreements. The position provides financial analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations to support decision-making, profitability, business performance, and compliance with corporate standards.
Additionally, the Sales Controller Sr. leads the Customer & Pricing Master Data team, ensuring data integrity, accurate pricing structures, and reliable commercial information across the organization.
What you´ll do
- Lead the financial management of sales discounts, rebates, allowances, and customer investments, ensuring accurate forecasting, accruals, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Own the monthly financial close for commercial spending, validating financial accuracy and compliance with corporate accounting guidelines.
- Monitor gross-to-net performance and identify risks and opportunities that impact profitability.
- Provide financial analysis and actionable insights to support commercial strategies and business decision-making.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to enhance business performance and financial visibility.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting tools to monitor commercial investments and profitability.
- Conduct ROI, pricing, margin, and profitability analyses to optimize customer and channel performance.
- Evaluate trade promotion effectiveness and recommend improvements to maximize return on investment.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting cycles, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Lead and develop the Customer & Pricing Master Data team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of commercial master data across systems and processes.
- Oversee customer hierarchy maintenance, sales structure management, customer segmentation, pricing updates, and IDH reporting.
- Drive automation and process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, data quality, and reporting capabilities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure service quality and operational excellence.
- Internal Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Support and strengthen the Internal Control Framework, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and financial governance standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to commercial processes and controls.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks within the sales and commercial environment.
- Monitor audit findings and lead corrective action plans to improve control effectiveness and compliance.
- Lead automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects for commercial finance tools, templates, pricing processes, and investment tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital solutions that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business insights.
- Promote data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics and reporting capabilities.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Experience in Finance, Commercial Controlling, Sales Finance, FP&A, or related areas.
- Proven experience managing gross-to-net processes, commercial investments, pricing, and sales controlling.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives end-to-end.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to translate corporate policies and guidelines into practical business processes.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, SAP, Power BI, AI Agents and automation tools.
- English: Advanced/Fluent (required).
