About the role and team

Leading a sales team at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. As the Sr Sales Pod Lead for Eats SMB, you will be at the frontline of our mission to connect people with what they want, leading a team of Account Executives to bring new merchant partners onto the platform.

The pace here is intense and the environment is fast-changing; you won’t just be pushing a product, but building long-term partnerships under real-world pressure. We are looking for a leader who leads with clarity and heart, someone who is energized by the messy reality of doing big things and can carry the weight of decisions that matter to our communities. If you are resilient, resourceful, and ready to set direction in motion without waiting for perfect conditions, this is where you’ll make your mark.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of approximately 8-10 Account Executives, ensuring they stay motivated and hit their targets even when the path forward isn't predefined.
  • Navigate internal complexity and shifting priorities to unlock value for our merchant partners and for Uber's growth.
  • Manage sales pipelines with urgency and discipline, balancing fast-closing deals with those requiring months of persistence and trust-building.
  • Coach and mentor team members through the inevitable "no," fostering a resilient culture that thrives on constant change.
  • Collaborate across operations, marketing, and legal to shape proposals and remove blockers that slow the team down.
  • Utilize data to uncover insights and create effective sales plans that align with Uber's long-term strategic vision.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a people manager leading a front-line B2B sales team.
  • Proficiency in managing the full sales cycle, including lead generation, outbound prospecting, and closing.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for pipeline forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through high-ambiguity environments and organizational change.
  • Track record of identifying and driving improvements in sales processes for the greater good of the organization.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to influence without authority across multiple regions.
  • Experience coaching underperforming team members to consistently exceed ambitious targets.

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook — it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves — we'd love to hear from you.

You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.

Offices remain key to collaboration and Uber's culture. Unless approved for full remote work, employees must spend at least 50% of their time in-office. Some roles, like those at greenlight hubs, require full-time in-office presence. Ask your Recruiter for details about this role's requirements.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
