Position Summary
The Sales Associate is a frontline representative of the ReStore, responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive shopping experience. This role involves assisting customers with product inquiries, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, restocking merchandise, and supporting the overall efficiency of daily retail operations. The Sales Associate plays a vital role in promoting the ReStore’s mission by ensuring a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all shoppers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead cashier, processing all customer transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and follow all cash handling procedures
- Greet customers warmly and assist with questions, purchases, and general inquiries
- Promote positive customer experience at the register and throughout the sales floor
- Support merchandising efforts by pricing, stocking, and organizing products as needed
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization at the front end and throughout the store
- Assist customers with loading purchases, with occasional lifting of heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
- Follow all store safety, operational, and customer service policies
- Actively represent and promote the mission and values of Habitat Charlotte Region

Qualifications

Qualifications
- Retail cashier experience preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from ReStore
- Strong commitment to customer service and transaction accuracy
- Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system confidently
- Friendly, helpful attitude with strong communication skills
- Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods
- Team-oriented, dependable, and punctual
- Flexible availability, including weekends

Work Environment
This role is active and physical, involving frequent standing, lifting, and working in both retail and donation/warehouse spaces. It also includes regular interaction with a diverse customer base, donors, volunteers, and staff.
