At Landers Appliance, we value our team and are committed to investing in your career growth. As a Junior Salesman, you'll play a crucial role in helping customers find the right appliance while delivering an exceptional experience in every interaction.
What We're Looking For
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys talking to people, isn't afraid to ask for the sale, and wants to build a career in sales. Success here means excelling in four key areas:
Selling with Confidence – You're comfortable guiding a customer to a decision and closing the sale, not just answering questions. Success in this role starts with a genuine drive to sell.
Staying Organized – You keep track of quotes, orders, and follow-ups without anything slipping through the cracks.
Communicating Clearly – You'll talk to customers on the phone and in person all day. Your communication skills help build trust and close deals.
Caring About the Customer Experience – Your ability to listen, understand what a customer actually needs, and respond thoughtfully is what turns a walk-in into a sale.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Quoting
- Sell off our standardized stock-menu binder — walk-in customers, straightforward replacements, and stock appliance sales.
- Quote and close sales directly in HUB, following set pricing (no off-menu sales without manager approval).
- Travel offsite to customers' homes to conduct pre-installation inspections as needed.
Customer Coordination
- Handle walk-in customers on the showroom floor and screen incoming phone calls.
- Provide updates, answer product questions, and follow up with customers who haven't decided yet.
Performance
- Meet baseline sales-seat performance standards, including consistent daily revenue on stock-menu items that actually get installed and minimal operational mistakes.
- Make regular outbound outreach to prospective customers and accounts.
Job Requirements:
- Sales or customer service experience preferred — retail, hospitality, or similar.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize on the fly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication — clear, respectful, and professional.
- Confident using technology and comfortable learning our sales software (HUB) and fixed pricing menu, with training provided.
- No appliance industry experience required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — this role requires travel to customers' homes for pre-inspections. [Added as a reasonable inference from the offsite requirement — confirm any specifics like mileage reimbursement.]
- Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
