Job Summary

The Sales Area Director (AD) will be responsible for leading and managing half of the national sales organization — four Regional Business Directors (RBDs) and, through them, their regional teams — accelerating growth of both Yutrepia and Treprostinil Injection in the PAH marketplace. This role will report to the SVP of Sales and combines senior sales leadership with a heavy emphasis on Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development and engagement to help move business, executive-level customer relationships, and cross-collaboration with all company functions that impact sales. The AD is expected to spend 30-50% of their time in the field with customers and RBDs, connect top customers and KOLs to other key executives across the organization, and exhibit business knowledge of the national landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the PAH marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop 4 Regional Business Directors and, through them, their regional teams (approximately 8 sales representatives per region) across half of the country, ensuring consistent execution of the national sales strategy
• Own sales performance, forecasting, and strategic business planning for the Area, in alignment with National expectations and the SVP of Sales
• Drive heavy, sustained Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development and engagement — building and maintaining strategic relationships with top KOL’s across the Area to help move business and support the growth of Yutrepia
• Spend 30-50% of time in the field with customers, RBDs, and sales representatives, modeling best-in-class selling and coaching behaviors
• Serve as the connective tissue between key customers and KOL’s and other Liquidia executives (e.g., Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing), proactively facilitating relationships that help advance business objectives
• Partner with the SVP of Sales on national strategy, providing an Area-level perspective on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities
• Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with all cross-functional stakeholders within the Liquidia commercial organization
• Be actively involved in the development and implementation of new hire training, launch meetings, National/POA sales meetings, and ongoing training and development of RBDs and their teams
• Develop and implement Area business plans and manage the Area’s budget in alignment with Regional and National expectations
• Maintain required clinical and technical expertise in order to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, marketing, policies, and business-related issues from customers, RBDs, and sales professionals
• Demonstrate mastery of and adherence to all relevant compliance laws, policies, and processes; ensuring actions of self and team are fully compliant
• Perform all other job-related duties as determined by business needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• 15+ years of Commercial experience including sales, marketing, market access, and/or sales training experience
• 5+ years of Cardiology, Pulmonary, or rare disease sales experience
• 3+ years of experience building, leading, and developing sales leaders (managing managers) preferred
• Established PAH-HCP and KOL relationships strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results at scale and developing others, including other sales leaders, to their potential
• Launch experience highly preferred
• Experience formally coaching sales managers/directors in the field
• Experience developing and implementing Area or multi-region business plans
• Experience developing and leading sales training and National sales meetings
• Proven ability to successfully manage multiple regions and priorities concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
• Ability to generate insights from analytics, both interpreting reports and creating analyses from CRM and in Excel
• Experience working with Specialty Pharmacy distributed therapies preferred
• Experience strategizing within cross-functional teams and senior leadership, utilizing differential resources to achieve business goals
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (30-50% field-based) across a multi-region Area
• High social intelligence, integrity, and professionalism; strong executive presence
