Job
Description

The Sales and Product Manager will work across our US and
Australian imprints to develop and execute
US-based sales and product strategies to achieve revenue, margin and inventory
targets. This person will act as the primary sales liaison between Hardie Grant
and distribution partners, providing market insight, sales analysis, and
strategic recommendations that support both publishing and commercial growth.

Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Managing Director, North America
    to develop and deliver annual revenue, margin and inventory budgets in
    conjunction with our distributor.
  • Work with our distributor to drive sales growth
    through title selection, promotions, merchandising, retailer partnerships
    and account planning.
  • Identify opportunities across frontlist,
    backlist and series publishing to maximise revenue and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasts,
    reforecasts and budget reporting.
  • Identify new retail, ecommerce and special
    sales opportunities.
  • Conduct market, consumer and competitor
    analysis to inform sales strategy, pricing, and positioning.
  • Provide market insights that support
    acquisition, list development and category growth across Australian and
    North American publishing programs.
  • Analyse sales and inventory performance to
    support stock management, pricing decisions, promotional activity,
    clearance programs and reprints.
  • Ensure sales materials, metadata and digital
    assets are accurate and delivered to agreed deadlines.
  • Manage title scheduling and sales priorities in
    collaboration with publishing and marketing teams.
  • Create and maintain seasonal catalogues, sell
    sheets, and sales presentations.
  • Support online product listings and
    discoverability initiatives with the marketing team.
  • Coordinate communication, reporting, sales
    updates and business reviews between Hardie Grant and distribution
    partners.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations,
    account reviews and targeted sell-in campaigns for key accounts.
  • Contribute to the development of merchandising
    strategies and launch plans for key titles, series and product categories.
  • Act as the central sales contact between Hardie
    Grant North America, Australian publishing teams and distribution partners
    in collaboration with Australian Export teams.
  • Share market intelligence,
    retailer feedback and sales performance insights with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior publishing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and problem solve
  • Proactive and able to adapt to changing priorities and environments
  • Proven ability to successfully plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Knowledge of the overall book market, including familiarity with industry supply chain, authors, titles, category performance, and publishing trends
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
