Sales Account Manager - Minneapolis, MN

About the Position
In this early-career role as a Sales Account Manager at ADM Fertilizer, you’ll own a portfolio of customer accounts in your assigned region and drive profitable sales growth. You’ll build lasting relationships, deliver expert market insights, and play a key role in helping farmers and ag businesses succeed. Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell ADM’s full range of fertilizer products to drive revenue and market share growth in your territory.
  • Build and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key customers to maximize sales and loyalty.
  • Provide regular market consultations on fertilizer price outlooks, trends, and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to develop competitive, value-driven customer propositions.
  • Coordinate sales execution with cross-functional teams (procurement, logistics, credit, etc.).
  • Support regional product procurement as needed.
  • Maintain accurate customer accounts, including credit, accounts receivable, logistics, and contract compliance.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business (Economics, Finance, Accounting), or a related field.
  • 0–5 years of sales, merchandising, or related experience in fertilizer commodities or the broader ag sector (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of commodity markets
  • Merchandising experience (preferred).
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-risk, fast-paced, and dynamic commodity pricing environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork abilities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and strong drive for results.
  • Commitment to corporate ethics, safety, and EHS standards.

Education or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting), supplemented with a range of 0 to 5 years of experience in the commodity or general Ag sector; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$78,000.00 - $145,700.00
