Deep industry experience isn’t essential—we value your sales foundation, adaptability, and relentless drive to win. Success in this role means combining commercial acumen with the cultural awareness needed to build trusted relationships in Japan and across a diverse customer base.

What you'll do:

• Build trusted customer partnerships by developing relationships with key decision-makers across Research & Development, Product Development, Purchasing, and senior leadership.
• Drive growth and win new business by identifying unmet customer needs, uncovering opportunities, and developing strategies that turn prospects into long-term, profitable partnerships.
• Deliver exceptional customer value by positioning SAI as a trusted resource for product functionality, flavor and taste performance, product safety, and reliable on-time, in-full delivery.
• Lead strategic customer initiatives by collaborating with technical teams, supporting long-term development projects, and executing programs that strengthen customer loyalty, retention, and SAI’s market reputation.
• Turn insights into action by analyzing customer trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities, resolve service or product issues, and develop strategies that drive sales growth.

What You’ll Bring

• A drive to win: You bring a strong sense of urgency, a proactive mindset, and the motivation to turn opportunities into results.
• A foundation in sales and communication: Some sales experience is preferred, along with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that help you build lasting customer relationships.
• Confidence with contracts and technology: You’re comfortable working with contracts and pricing, have strong computer skills, and bring bonus points for experience with Salesforce and Power BI.
• Flexibility and a team-first mindset: You can work independently, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and travel extensively to customers across the United States, with 70%+ travel required.
• Curiosity, empathy, and adaptability: You’re eager to learn, understand customer needs, and build your skills through frequent in-person collaboration at our Turlock, California facility. This is a travel-based role, not a home-office position.

• The Sensient Agricultural Ingredients group is part of Sensient Flavors & Extracts Group and is one of the largest producers and distributors of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Agricultural Ingredients business has sites located in Turlock and Livingston California and Deming, New Mexico.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions. In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

• SPONSORSHIP: Due to our inability to offer visa sponsorship, we can only consider candidates who are authorized to work in USA without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
• RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to live near a major airport in Southern California and able to travel to Japan.
