SAIPA / CIMA JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT - R 450k pa Established Commercial Business | Tygerberg/Parow Area, Cape Town Finished your SAIPA or CIMA training contract, or completing it during 2026? Ready to make the move from practice into commerce? An established commercial business in the Tygerberg area is looking for a Junior Accountant / Accountant to join its in-house finance team. This is not a role where you’ll simply capture transactions all day. You’ll get exposure to the actual mechanics of an asset finance business , working across accounting, banking, loan transactions, settlements, reconciliations, VAT, management accounts and financial controls. WHAT YOU’LL GET EXPOSURE TO You’ll work closely with an experienced finance team and gradually take ownership of areas including: Month-end accounting and reconciliations Management accounts support and reporting schedules Debtors, creditors and general ledger accounting Banking, payments and debit-order processes Loan and asset finance transactions Settlement calculations and administration Reconciliation of financial information across accounting and loan-management systems VAT calculations and reconciliations Journals, accruals and month-end adjustments Cash flow information Audit support and financial controls Identifying discrepancies and actually investigating why the numbers don’t agree Improving and automating finance processes as you grow into the role The position has a particularly strong operational accounting focus and requires someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving reconciling items and understanding how transactions flow through a business. Requirements WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR This opportunity could be ideal if you are: ✓ Completing your SAIPA or CIMA training contract during 2026 OR ✓ Recently completed your SAIPA or CIMA training and looking for your first move into commerce You should have a relevant BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting / Management Accounting or similar finance degree , together with approximately three years of practical accounting experience. We’re particularly interested in trainees who have gained genuine hands-on exposure to bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, journals, VAT, general ledger accounting, month-end and management accounts . Experience with Sage or a comparable accounting package will be valuable, as will strong Excel skills. WHY THIS COULD BE A GREAT FIRST MOVE INTO COMMERCE You’ve done the training. You’ve worked across different clients, deadlines and accounting requirements. Now you get to go deeper. Instead of preparing accounts for a client and moving on to the next file, you’ll become part of one finance team and start understanding the business behind the numbers. You’ll gain exposure to an industry you may not have encountered during articles, including asset finance, loan accounting, settlements, debit-order collections and finance systems . Previous experience in these areas would be advantageous, but the role specification specifically treats this exposure as advantageous rather than essential . Most importantly, they’re looking for someone who wants to learn, take ownership and grow as the finance function develops.
