Description
Sheet’ká Rainforest Park is seeking knowledgeable Cultural Consultants to support Indigenous programming on a part-time, on-call basis. There are multiple positions available to support a variety of program areas based on your knowledge set including; cultural training for staff, support in the development of interpretive signage, and development of cultural content and activities. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of Tlingit culture especially Sheet’ká Kwáan and excels at teaching, guiding, and supporting others in cultural awareness, storytelling, and respectful engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Support for Staff Training
- Tlingit history, values, and protocols
- Oral history, clan structure, traditional values
- Traditional art forms
- Subsistence foods and practices.
- Local place-based knowledge
- Cultural sensitivity and respectful guest interaction
- Participate in ongoing summer training sessions to reinforce knowledge, answer questions, and support staff growth.
- Offer guidance to staff on integrating accurate cultural context into guest conversations, tours, and daily operations.
- Collaborate with Elders, culture bearers, and community partners when appropriate.
- Uphold cultural accuracy, respect, and alignment with traditional values across all training activities.
- Model professionalism and traditional values for all staff.

Work Environment
This is an in-person position in an office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by SAI.

Shareholder Hire

Salary Description
$50.00 per hour

Shee Atiká Government Services is a wholly-owned government services holding line under Shee Atiká, Inc, an urban Alaska Native Corporation. SGS provides shared services and strategic oversight to its seven SBA 8(a)-certified subsidiaries in information technology, logistics and supply chain management, and research and studies.
