Job Description

Pay Rate: $14.83

Under the supervision of the Saganing Guest Services Supervisor, transport guests of Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and other SCIT Properties to and from various destinations. Transport guests to and from the casino and their vehicle in the parking lot by passenger bus or golf cart. Provide other transportation service as required and approved by management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive safely and conservatively while announcing stops and answering general questions about the property and local community; assist passengers when needed.
  • Perform pre-trip evaluation and light maintenance on transportation vehicles to include: tire pressure, adding oil, washer fluid, etc., and maintaining a clean appearance of the exterior and interior of the vehicle ensuring safety and cleanliness for both the driver and guests.
  • Monitor the fuel level and perform timely fuel fills with limited guest impact.
  • Remain alert to any conditions in the loading and unloading area which may present a danger to guests.
  • Maintain knowledge of casino and resort amenities to include SCIT properties.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest transportation.
  • Comply with all SCIT properties safety, security, and motor vehicle policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, problems, or unusual circumstances involving guests, team members or company assets in a proper and immediate manner.
  • Operate wheelchair lifts and follow proper guidelines regarding securing wheelchairs and guests.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up clutter and keeping work area organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with Guest Services Supervisor and communicates with team members and management team for the day to day operational needs.
  • Contact with guests in performing job duties and responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have good hearing and at least 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Driving experience.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must have a valid CDL with passenger endorsements or a Chauffers License.
  • Must have a valid State of Michigan Drivers License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Drivers License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of applicable Tribal, federal, state, tribal, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of rules of the road, road signage, driver and passenger service regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of the tribal community, roads, and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of guests.
  • Ability to drive safely and efficiently in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to respond to and remain calm in an emergency or crisis situations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work wheelchair lifts and follow proper guidelines regarding securing wheelchairs and guests.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with transportation.
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally walk and stand and reach with arms and hands.
  • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of equipment and materials.
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur.
  • Exposure to second hand smoke.
  • Drive in adverse weather conditions.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
