Our SEQ team is looking for a Safeworking Assurance Officer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. In this opportunity you will be responsible for planning and implementing safeworking compliance and assurance activities of worksites and internal and external Track Protection Officers, identifying the level of capability, compliance and governance of people, systems, processes, documentation and equipment.

This position is based at Sunshine Depothowever some travel and occasional weekend work may be required at times to meet the business needs. The roster will encompass 2 weeks of night shift every 8 weeks.

In this role, you can anticipate some of your daily activities to include:

• Capture, report and analyse the information gathered during assurance process activities and make recommendations to management to highlight gaps, drive improvements and escalate issues as required
• Provide safeworking advice to internal and external stakeholders to pro-actively mitigate risks associated with Queensland Rail's safeworking procedures.
• Liaise with Safety Facilitators across all Network disciplines to conduct compliance and assurance activities and report safety hazards and other identified risks.
• Provide independent safety and environment assurance training, coaching, mentoring, support and advice to the safeworking protection team.
• Support the investigation of Safeworking Incidents when requested from Senior Management.
• Assist in the development and delivery of safety improvement initiatives.

At a minimum we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the below skills and experience and is aligned to the requirements of this role:

• High level of skill and capability in planning and delivering effective assurance programs to achieve compliance requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of trackside safety, safeworking principles and safeworking rules and procedures including the ability to apply this knowledge safely and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to coach and develop others.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
