Our Company operates over 130 towboats and tugboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. With additional offices in Louisiana and Texas, and approximately 1,800 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Support the Safety & Training team in developing and implementing training programs for vessel and shore-based employees, ensuring alignment with company objectives and safety standards.
• Help review and update training content to reflect changes in safety procedures, technology, and industry best practices.
• Track and document employee training progress, certifications, and evaluations to support compliance and promotion processes.
• Provide administrative support for training initiatives, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and maintaining training databases.
• Research industry trends and regulatory updates to support the integration of best practices into training programs.
• Assist in gathering feedback from participants and compiling reports to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently seeking an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Safety, or related fields.
• Eager to learn and enthusiastic about developing skills in safety, training, and employee development.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data to support training effectiveness.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Confidence in public speaking and able to develop the ability to deliver training content accurately and effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new software or tools as needed.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY with internship dates ranging from mid-May 2027 to early August 2027 (can be flexible on dates).
