Requirements

What You'll Do

As a Safety Technician, you'll support daily safety operations and help strengthen a proactive safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace safety inspections and audits
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Assist with incident, injury, near-miss, and property damage investigations
• Maintain safety records, logs, reports, and compliance documentation
• Support OSHA compliance initiatives and regulatory inspections
• Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments
• Track and follow up on corrective actions
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and chemical inventories
• Inspect emergency equipment, including eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and spill response supplies
• Monitor employee compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Assist with safety committee meetings and documentation
• Support emergency response planning and drills
• Prepare safety metrics and reports for management review
• Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in safety, manufacturing, construction, industrial operations, or a related environment
• Students and recent graduates with safety-related internships are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Certification
• First Aid / CPR / AED Certification
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification or pursuit of certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in office, manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor settings
• Ability to wear required PPE
• Ability to access elevated, confined, or restricted work areas when necessary
