Join our Toyota Material Handling North America team as a Safety Technician!
The Role:
We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Safety Technician who brings safety expertise to the table. In this role, you’ll work in a TPS Environment to coach, mentor, provide leadership to, and provide on-the-job training to associates regarding environmental, health, and safety activities and responsibilities in their assigned area. The Safety Assistant Team Lead is to support 2nd Shift requiring flexibility in work hours.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Set an example for safe behavior while ensuring compliance with company Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with EHS Business Partner to to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws; investigate all incidents to identify the root cause and supports implementation of agreed up on corrective actions.
- Uses problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns, elevating to Supervisor, Manager and/or EHS Business Partner as necessary.
- Lead risk assessments to proactively identify and support implementation of corrective actions for operations processes in area of responsibility. Risk assessments will focus on continuous improvement.
- Perform program inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Company policy and regulations (e.g. LOTO, Crane/Hoist, etc.). Performs STOP observations and reviews trends in area of responsibility; supports implementation of corrective actions as required.
- Ensuring all employees are well trained for safe and successful completion of their jobs. Supports DOJO training, Safety on the Move, and process specific training in their area.
- Review and updates Work Instructions, following Company/Departmental protocols, to ensure safe practices are embedded in all work instructions.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings; prepares and delivers presentations at meetings and to employees.
- Perform related work as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Two or more years of experience in a related work environment.
What Sets You Apart:
- An Associate’s Degree in a related field
- Completion of OSHA 10 Course (or to be completed within 30 days of assignment)
- Completion of the following (or be completed within 6 months of assignment): Train the Trainer, Safety on the Move, and STOP Observation Training
Where and When You’ll Work:
- This is an in-person role located at our Greene, NY location—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
- This position will work 2nd Shift hours but must have flexibility in schedule to provide support on other shifts.
- This position will support warehouse operations in multiple locations.
What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Wage - $21.77 – $27.92 per hour; plus an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
