Your mission:

As a Safety Technical Investigator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing aviation safety by analyzing incidents, implementing preventive measures, and fostering a culture of safety within Skyguide. Your tasks:

  • Analyzing and processing information from the internal safety reporting system and technical logs
  • Gathering additional information from relevant experts or equipment
  • Conducting and documenting internal investigations to prevent accidents or incidents, adhering to Just Culture principles
  • Issuing, tracking, and monitoring safety recommendations
  • Collaborating with operational and technical departments, including external stakeholders and competent authorities
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of advanced safety occurrence management and investigation systems for technical occurrences
  • Maintaining and updating internal databases

What we are looking for:

  • Strong engineering background, ideally in computer science and/or Air Traffic Management
  • A clear and demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Communication: You adapt your communication style to the context and stakeholders and actively ask for information through relevant questions and active listening
  • Teamwork: You engage in interactions with diverse team members and actively contribute information, ideas, and insights in meetings or other interactions
  • Problem solving: You seek accurate information to analyze problems, break down complex issues into manageable parts, and approach solutions in a systematic and structured way
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in German or French and English

Skyguide is responsible for providing air navigation services within Swiss airspace and in the airspace of certain adjoining regions in neighbouring countries. The company guides the civil and military aircraft entrusted to its care – around 1,2 million flights a year – through some of the busiest and most complex airspace in Europe.

Skyguide is a non-profit limited company which has its head office in Geneva. The majority of its shares are held by the Swiss Confederation. The company employs some 1500 people at 14 locations in Switzerland.

Skyguide is also a member, together with its sister organisations in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, of the FABEC initiative to create a common functional airspace block that will bring greater efficiency to Central Europe’s air traffic management services and activities.
