Meaningful Work From Day One

Accountable for fostering a safety culture through training, supervision, coaching, and encouraging high levels of employee participation and accountability.

Responsible for the compliance of all Mexican safety regulations for the site in coordination with the MASS team and all the Casa Herradura Team, aiming to reduce the safety incidents by controlling the risk fee of IMSS.

Responsible for implementation, completion, supervision, and maintenance of the Safety Corporate programs and metrics in coordination with the MASS team and all the Casa Herradura Team, including annual audits.

Responsible for maintaining current safety policies and implementing new policies/procedures as needed in coordination with the MASS team and all the Casa Herradura Team.

In coordination with the Medical Department, handle local worker issues and disability costs through claims management practices and return to work programs.

Primary site contact for state and federal regulatory agencies for Safety Mexican compliance activities for the site (STPS-IMSS).

Leads and coordinates the Site Safety Specialists (BFTM & VAMA) to cover responsibility for Safety and employee wellness, as well as the implementation of programs to address safety as a work culture aligned to STPS, IMMS & Mexican Regulations, including Contractors.

What You Can Expect

  • Implement a Safety Culture in all the levels of Casa Herradura to generate an environment where all the persons are accountable for their own safety and take care of each other.

  • Lead and promote employee involvement in safety performance and culture. Generate a high level of participation and employee accountability in the site (BFTM and VAMA) to reduce risks and prevent accidents, by visiting directly our operational field bases and the shop floor.

  • Evaluate hazards and control risks through the development and implementation of Engineering, Administrative, and PPE improvements in coordination with the MASS team, Medical Department, and all the Casa Herradura Team.

  • Ensure 100% compliance of site operations (BFTM and VAMA) with regulatory OSHA/Safety Mexican NOMs requirements relating to Safety by training, supporting, supervising, and improving these compliance requirements.

  • Provide proactive leadership to implement and maintain all Corporate Safety programs at the site (BFTM and VAMA) by training, supporting, supervising, and improving these Corporate Safety Programs.

  • With all the site operations (BFTM and VAMA), maintain an excellent performance in the leadership metrics established in the site: Take a minute, Self assessments, Incident Administration, Corrective Action Closure, Training.

  • Assure the development and use of positive recognition programs (such as spirits and safety bills), like corrective actions related to unsafe behaviors (as the RPGP program).

  • Define and achieve the Safety KPIs established in the site (BFTM and VAMA).

  • Develop and implement current and new initiatives, programs, and process improvements to reduce injuries and illnesses, and continuous improvement programs for overall Safety performance.

  • Responsible for all safety-related issues dealing with capital projects as well as maintaining the Contractor Safety Program, including contractor pre-qualification, orientation, and documentation orientation cards, and Mexican Regulatory compliance (STPS & IMSS) in the INFOCONTROL platform.

  • Have a high relationship with the Corporate Safety Team to be aligned with the Corporate Safety Strategy and new requirements;

  • Support and conduct B-F Metrics audits and provide sustainable corrective actions for resolution.

  • Conduct and validate accident investigations to determine the real root cause and implement sustainable and efficient solutions to prevent the accident from happening again.

  • Manage all safety data and documentation and prepare reports as necessary.

  • Monitor safety-related costs (capital and expense), capital requests, provide input into safety-related budgetary items, track performance to plan, and prepare reports and presentations on costs associated with safety programs and metrics.

  • Supervise the performance and Development of your direct reports.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Have a Bachelor's degree or related professional development in Safety (OSHA / Mexican Regulations, Management systems, safety behaviors);

  • At least 5 years of experience in similar leadership positions related to safety in areas of manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.

  • Analytical thinking to solve problems in ambiguous situations.

  • Good level of English to have fluid communication with the Safety Corporate Team.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to formulate responses to detailed questions in representing company policy/practice within a function, at all levels of the Company; ability to compose final draft memos/projects/reports; excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills. Ability to produce finished material from basic instructions.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel. Excellent interpersonal skills while maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated ability to complete work with speed and accuracy within an established timeframe.

  • Demonstrated information management.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to meet deadline demands.

  • Experience in the development, implementation, and administration of comprehensive safety programs.
