Construction Safety Specialist

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Professional to support a fast-paced construction project. This position will work closely with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and field teams to identify hazards, maintain OSHA compliance, and promote a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify hazards
  • Coach and support contractors and field personnel on safe work practices
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and project safety requirements
  • Support PTPs, JSAs/JHAs, permits, and other safety processes
  • Lead orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Maintain required safety documentation and reports
  • Monitor high-risk work, including excavation, demolition, fall protection, electrical, confined space, and crane activities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience
  • OSHA 510 required
  • OSHA 30 Construction required (within the last 5 years)
  • First Aid/CPR/AED required
  • Excavation and demolition safety experience required
  • Pharmaceutical construction experience required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Strong hazard recognition and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, supervisors, and project leadership
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • BCSP certification such as STS-C, CHST, or CSP
  • OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or other relevant safety certifications
  • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field

Work Requirements

This is a field-based position requiring regular walking, standing, climbing, and navigating active construction areas. Candidates must be able to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs. Flexible hours and overtime may be required based on project needs. Reliable transportation is required.
