Safety Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a Safety Specialist to lead and oversee Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability (RESH) activities within our Logistics and Transportation operation. This role is responsible for establishing safety policies and standards, developing programs and action plans, and supervising the execution of technical and administrative processes to foster a strong culture of accident prevention, risk management, and occupational health.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of safety programs across different operational areas.
  • Define and execute follow-up strategies to ensure compliance with assigned activities and responsibilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety standards, procedures, and guidelines according to operational needs and risk assessments.
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations, supporting the identification of root causes and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, as well as corporate standards, policies, procedures, and regulations related to safety, quality, and environmental management.
  • Monitor and maintain key safety performance indicators (KPIs), presenting results to RESH Management and leadership teams while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to RESH management systems and other company-defined processes.
  • Plan and deliver safety training programs, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement activities.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and risk management mindset that supports employee wellbeing and the successful execution of Logistics and Transportation operations.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration with a valid Occupational Health and Safety License, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, industrial, consumer goods, or related sectors.
  • Certification in Working at Heights and completion of the 50-hour Occupational Health and Safety course are required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is highly desirable.
  • Intermediate English level (B1 or higher) is required.
  • Strong interest in logistics and transportation operations, with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
  • Availability to work across our locations in Rionegro, Guarne, and Girardota.
