Apollo Mechanical has an immediate opening for a self ‑motivated Safety Representative to join a high ‑functioning construction project team in Umatilla, OR. This role plays a key part in supportingprojectsuccessbycoordinatingandadministeringsitesafetyprogramsinalignment with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards.
The Safety Professional will serve as a trusted safety resource for assigned project teams, providingon ‑siteleadership,coaching,andguidancewiththesharedgoalofensuringevery employee goes Home Healthy – Home Safe at the end of each shift.
Skillsand Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings a combination of field awareness, organizational strength, and a proactiveapproachtosafety.Experienceorproficiencyinthefollowingisconsidereda strong plus:
· Strong computer knowledge and skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent organizational skills
· Strong tracking and follow up skills
· Working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to safety and health in a construction environment.
· Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
Preferred Qualifications
Anyofthefollowingexperienceorcredentialsareconsideredbeneficial,butnot required:
· Professional safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CIH
· Knowledge and application of safety and health management systems in construction
· Experience interpreting and applying federal safety codes, standards, and regulations
· Experience preparing and delivering safety or industrial hygiene information
· An Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field
· Prior experience in safety, health, environmental, or emergency response roles
· Construction experience with a primary focus on safety, health, or environmental protection
· Completion of OSHA Outreach Trainer coursework, including but not limited to: OSHA 500, and 510
This position requires the development of a close and effective working relationship with the project team, including but not limited to frontline workers, field supervision and department management.Theidealcandidatemusthaveastrongabilitytocommunicatebothverballyand in writing and demonstrate knowledge of risk, liability, and safety management.
