Job Description

Job Title: SAFETY OFFICER

Reports To: Safety Manager

Rate of Pay: $21.00/hour

Shifts: Part-Time Year Round. Must work occasional and/or regular shifts on holidays and weekends. Schedule days and/or shift hours may change at anytime to accommodate coverage needs, which include but are not limited to regular shifts and special events.

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-exempt

ABOUT THE JOB

Promotes the Sundance safety culture and ensures a safe environment for guests, employees, owners, vendors, and local community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Protect assets and prevent loss of Sundance property from fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Act as a first responder to any emergency (i.e., medical, fire, accidents, domestic disturbances, building alarms, severe weather incidents, and any other incident that may require assistance) and coordinate with additional resources as needed.
  • Document all guest and employee incidents such as theft, injury, complaints, disturbances, etc.
  • Assists investigating accidents for root cause.
  • Lead, direct, and support others during times of emergency in the absence of the Safety Manager.
  • Control inventory of transferable assets i.e. radios, pagers, cell phones, building, and vehicle keys.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as trespassing, loitering, smoking, sledding, or carrying forbidden articles.
  • Expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Provide after-hours lodging check-ins and Bell service.
  • Respond to after-hours guest requests and maintenance calls.
  • Communicate maintenance emergencies immediately to the SR. Director of Facilities and/or Maintenance Manager.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of operations to identify hazards, prevent accidents and ensure compliance to company safety protocols.
  • Comply with the company Confidentiality Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SAFETY OFFICER UNIFORM GUIDELINES

When you arrive at work you need to be in the assigned uniform and in compliance with the Sundance dress code. You will receive several uniform articles. You are responsible for keeping the items clean and in good repair.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.
  • Previous safety/security experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Efficiency in using 2-way radios, smart phones Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications Required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
  • Current certification as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) through a national registrar is preferred.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to varying outside weather conditions, that include extreme heat and cold. The work environment can be hazardous due to weather, providing medical care, participating in emergencies, interaction with hostile individuals , theft, fire suppression, etc.. Each person is ultimately responsible for their own safety and should act within the scope of their training.
