Therma’s Safety team is in an immediate need of a Safety Officer. This position provides advice and guidance to company management as well as field employees in keeping the company compliant. The ultimate goal of the Safety Department is to create a zero-injury working environment. This is done by creating an appropriate level of knowledge, awareness, and preparedness throughout the entire company regarding effective safety practices and balancing overall associated costs.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and modify documents including presentations, reports, drafts, memos, and emails
• Data entry across multiple databases
• Creation of and maintaining of spreadsheets - various projects in Microsoft Excel
• May require travel to various job sites throughout the SoCal Market
• Assist with conducting accident/incident investigations and prepare to correlate documentation.
• Assist project management in conducting safety orientations and onboarding of union employees
• Post and keep current all required safety documents and literature
• Assist with collecting and preparing Leading and Lagging Indicator reports
• Assist with managing 3rd party subcontractor safety management programs
• Assist with managing employee safety incentive program
• Provide administrative support to management
• Assist with managing facility environmental program
• Manage content for company safety website
Qualifications
• 1 - 3 years in construction safety experience desired
• 2 or 4-year college degree in environmental health and safety discipline preferred but not required
• Experience with union workforce
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tact
• A clear understanding of the Company mission and values
• Ability to lift 30lbs, walk 4-6 flights of stairs daily and walk continually for 60 minutes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
Base salary: $70k-$90k per year.
