Ø Purpose of Position

  • The purpose of this position is to ensure that all project activities are executed in full compliance with established Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, in line with company policies, client requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective implementation of the contractor’s Environment, Health, Safety, and Environment (EHSE) plan across all project activities.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for workforce and visitors.
  • Monitor compliance with statutory EHS requirements, including: * Proper use of PPE.
  • * Work permit system adherence (hot work, confined space, electrical, height work, etc.).
  • Waste management and disposal in line with environmental norms.

Occupational health and hygiene practices.

  • Record and report all incidents, accidents, and near misses; ensure timely investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment with zero-incident culture.
  • Provide work-specific EHS induction and refresher training for all project stakeholders.
  • Verify contractor compliance and statutory documentation, including (but not limited to):

* Contractor All Risk (CAR) insurance policy.

* Labor license and related approvals.

* ESIC, PF, BOCW registrations, and related statutory obligations.

* Medical fitness certificates for workers.

* Valid calibration certificates for safety equipment.

  • Ensure proper emergency preparedness, including availability of fire-fighting equipment, first aid facilities, evacuation plans, and mock drills.
  • Review and approve Method Statements, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Risk Assessments submitted by contractors.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, traffic management, signage, and site barricading are maintained throughout the project.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental norms (noise, dust, air quality, water discharge, and hazardous waste management).

Ø Roles & Responsibilities for QHSE

  • Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.
  • To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
  • To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.
  • Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
  • Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects
  • Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)
  • On-time delivery of Reports
  • Client relationship – Retention and Growth.
  • Compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures.
  • Internal and external customer service satisfaction (e.g. number of complaints)
  • To adhere Group HSE Guidelines and maintaining zero harm.
  • Qualification and Experience

General:

  • Graduate Engineer BE/ B.Tech Civil & Safety engineering with min. 6 years or Diploma in Civil & Industrial safety/Fire & safety with 8 years of relevant experience.

Technical:

  • Knowledge of Construction Quality and safety/Fire and Safety will be preferred.
  • Skills & Qualities:
  • Good communication skills verbal, writing and presentation.
  • Ability to comprehend technical issues quickly.
  • Ability to work in a team
