Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Safety Officer to join and grow our team. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance with and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.

Responsibilities
Lead and influence change.whilst developing a positive safety culture.
Champion Barrick’s journey to zero philosophy.
Conduct Critical Control Verifications (CCVs).
Provide support and guidance to Safety Representatives
Conduct on-the-job coaching and training to employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices
Demonstrate commitment to the completion of health and safety activities
Timely and accurate completion of Safety daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports
Conduct weekly and monthly scheduled Safety meetings
Maintain accuracy of the information in the Management of Change (MOC’s) database
Participating in the review of Standard Operating Procedures
Conduct workplace inspections and audits as required
Assist in incident and accident investigations.
Monitor and follow up on incident investigation recommendations to ensure actions are completed and implemented.
Ensure compliance with relevant Tanzanian Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Demonstrate commitment to the completion of health and safety activities, including standards set for the company.
Correct and report safety hazards when observed.
Actively support and participate in safety initiatives or training as required.
Assisting with the facilitation of formal risk assessments.
Understanding of related department activities and managing their impact on the safety programs
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Safety Coordinator
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
NOSHC I&II
Advanced Certificate in Secondary Education or Above
Certificate IV in training and workplace assessment
Certification in Emergency Response Management as an added advantage
Incident& Accident Investigation
Level 3 First Aid Training
A Valid Driving License
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
2 - 3 Years’ Experience in Safety Practice in Mining, Processing, Construction or Maintenance disciplines.
Underground Mining Experience as an added advantage
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Emergency Rescue Operations
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
Tolerance & Patience
Conversant with the Tanzania Occupational Safety and Health Act and its regulations.
Communication, Fluent written and verbal in English & Swahili (M)
Computer literacy in MS Office Packages (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
Formal Training Qualification in Risk Management, Accident Investigations, and Occupational Health and Safety
