Construction Safety Manager

📍 Location: Tampa, FL

📅 Duration: 7-8 Months (Start: Immediate)

📋 Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

💰 Pay Rate: $50/hr

🏨 Per Diem: None - locals only

🎯 Completion Bonus: $150/month

💵 Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM | Approximately 50 Hours Per Week

📈 Possible Saturday Work as Project Needs Require

Required Qualifications

✔ Bilingual (Spanish/English)

✔ OSHA 30 Construction Certification

✔ Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Airport or aviation construction experience

⭐ Commercial concrete construction experience

⭐ Scaffold Competent Person experience

⭐ Fall protection and elevated work experience

⭐ Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for concrete construction operations
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
  • Complete and maintain daily employee sign-in documentation
  • Develop, review, and administer daily Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Conduct daily scaffold inspections and monitor scaffold use
  • Monitor concrete placement, formwork, reinforcing steel, and related activities
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor fall protection and elevated work activities
  • Ensure workers comply with project-specific safety policies and procedures
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and coordinate immediate corrective actions
  • Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project supervision and field leadership
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports

The ideal candidate is a bilingual, hands-on, field-focused safety professional who understands construction site operations and is comfortable maintaining a strong daily presence alongside craft personnel. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively with both English and Spanish-speaking workers while supporting safe and productive project execution.

Success in this role requires staying ahead of changing jobsite hazards, maintaining accurate AHAs and inspection documentation, ensuring scaffolds and elevated work activities are properly controlled, and consistently reinforcing project safety expectations with field personnel.
