Charleston County EMS is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to develop, implement, administer, and evaluate safety policies, programs, training, investigations, and corrective actions designed to protect employees, patients, facilities, vehicles, and operations. This position will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Support Services and will work to ensure regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement in workplace safety. The EMS Safety Manager will work to identify potential safety issues and create plans to reduce those issues, ensure the department has adequate and proper safety supplies, and develop and implement department-wide programs. They will provide oversight of programs such as Accident and Injury Investigations, Facility Inspections, Radiation Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Indoor Air and Water Quality, Spill Response and Environmental Issues, Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, Hazardous Chemical, OSHA and other training programs, maintaining proficiency in each of these areas through training and thorough practice in the field. The Safety Manager will also manage the random and for-cause drug and alcohol testing program for the EMS department and build or assist in developing unique and standard reports for ongoing department needs.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,315 - $99.964 (or subject to County promotion/transfer policies)
